• The Lilacs Are Back

    Join us for special afternoon at the Ewing Park Lilac Arboretum (5300 Indianola Avenue) celebrating the annual bloom of over 200 different varieties of lilacs. From 1p.m. to 4 p.m., visitors are encouraged to take in the fragrance of the nearly 30 acres of plants and a number of activities.

    Join us for the First Annual Run With Police on Saturday May 16th, 10AM starting in the 100 blk. of E. Court Avenue right outside of the Des Moines Police Station, and finishing back at the station. This is a timed 5K race/run/walk event which benefits Special Olympics of Iowa and also recognizes National Police Week.
