  • Run With Police on Saturday May 16th

    Join us for the First Annual Run With Police on Saturday May 16th, 10AM starting in the 100 blk. of E. Court Avenue right outside of the Des Moines Police Station, and finishing back at the station. This is a timed 5K race/run/walk event which benefits Special Olympics of Iowa and also recognizes National Police Week.

downtown, you've seen one of the approximately 3200 City of Des Moines SmartCard Parking Meters.

This program has been in place for almost four years and has been warmly welcomed by everyone who has ever had to drop quarter after quarter into a parking meter. Not only does the SmartCard provide convenience it also allows the user to refund any unused time back onto their SmartCard.
