  • In conjunction with Ugly Sweater Run on Saturday, December 6, 2014, the following street closure will be implemented:

    Effective Saturday, December 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

    ● M. L. King Jr. Pkwy from SW 2nd St to SE 6th St

    ● SW 2nd St/Indianola Ave from Jackson Ave to M. L. King Jr. Pkwy (Northbound)

    ● Water St from Walnut St to M. L. King Jr. Pkwy

    Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area, obey all signing and expect delays.

  • Science Center Fireworks
  • Starting: 11/29/2014 03:00 PM 
  • Ending: 11/29/2014 09:00 PM
     
  • In conjunction with Science Center Fireworks on Saturday, November 29, 2014, the following street closure will be implemented:

    Effective Saturday, November 29, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
    M. L. King Jr. Pkwy from SE 4th St to SW 2nd St, Westbound

    Effective Saturday, November 29, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
    M. L. King Jr. Pkwy from SE 4th St to SW 2nd St, Eastbound
    (M. L. King Jr. Pkwy eastbound will be closed during shooting of the fireworks.)

    Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area, obey all signing and expect delays.

  • LANE CLOSURE: Keosauqua Way from Crocker Street to I-235
  • Starting: 11/25/2014 09:00 AM 
  • Ending: 12/02/2014 06:00 PM
     
  • The southbound lanes of Keosauqua Way from Crocker Street to I 235 will be reduced and the left turns prohibited beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, through 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. This closure is necessary for new water service to 1221 Keosauqua Way.

    Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area and obey all construction zone signing.

  • E Porter Avenue from Indianola Avenue to SE 24th Street
  • Starting: 10/22/2014 12:00 AM 
  • Ending: 12/01/2014 12:00 AM
     
  • E Porter Avenue from Indianola Avenue to SE 24th Street will be closed to traffic beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 for construction activities related to the Indianola Avenue Widening Phase 3 project. This closure will be in effect through December 1, 2014.

    Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area and obey all construction zone signing.

  • Indianola Ave. between Easter Lake Dr. and E Porter Ave. Reopened
  • Starting: 11/21/2014 03:00 PM
     
  • Indianola Avenue between Easter Lake Drive and E Porter Avenue was reopened to traffic this afternoon. The closure was necessary as part of the Indianola Avenue Widening Phase 3 project.

  • Robert D. Ray Drive north of Des Moines Street
  • Starting: 03/26/2013 07:00 AM
     
  • Robert D. Ray Drive north of Des Moines Street will be closed beginning at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 for reconstruction and expansion of the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, formerly called the Botanical Center. Access from East 6th Street will no longer be allowed. Access to the Botanical Garden parking lot will remain via Robert D. Ray Drive from Grand Avenue on the south end of the Botanical Garden. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area, obey all construction zone signing and expect delays.
