  • Ending: 11/24/2014 05:00 PM
     
  • Water Street between West M.L. King Jr. Pkwy. and Market Street will be closed to traffic beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014. This closure is necessary for sewer work and is expected to last approximately 3 weeks.

    Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area and obey all construction zone signing.

  • Grand Avenue from 2nd Avenue to Robert D Ray Drive and Robert D Ray Drive from Grand Avenue to Des Moines Street will be closed to traffic on Saturday November 1, 2014, between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. for an event at the Brenton Skating Plaza.

  • E Euclid Avenue (US 6) from 2nd Avenue to Columbia Street will be closed beginning Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 6:00 a.m. through Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. This closure is necessary for milling and resurfacing for the Euclid Avenue Intersection Improvement project.

    Detours will be posted using 2nd Avenue, University Avenue, and E 14th Street. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area and obey all construction zone signing.

    Court Avenue from 3rd Street to 4th Street

  • Grand Avenue from 56th Street to 58th Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction beginning on Monday, October 27, 2014, at 7:00 a.m. through Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at 4:00 p.m. This closure is necessary for concrete pavement repairs.

  • Indianola Avenue from Easter Lake Drive to E Porter Avenue
  • Starting: 10/22/2014 09:00 AM 
  • Ending: 12/12/2014 05:00 PM
     
  • Indianola Avenue from Easter Lake Drive to E Porter Avenue will be closed to traffic beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 for construction activities related to the Indianola Avenue Widening Phase 3 project. The intersection of Easter Lake Drive and Indianola Avenue will be reopened at this time. The intersection of E. Porter Avenue and Indianola Avenue will be closed. Access to Ewing Park will be available from the intersection of Indianola Avenue and Easter Lake Drive. This closure will be in effect through December 12, 2014.

    A detour route will be posted using SE 14th Street and Army Post Road. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area and obey all construction zone signing.

  • E Porter Avenue from Indianola Avenue to SE 24th Street will be closed to traffic beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 for construction activities related to the Indianola Avenue Widening Phase 3 project. This closure will be in effect through December 1, 2014.

  • LANE CLOSURE: SW 9th Street between McKinley Avenue and Porter Avenue
  • Starting: 07/07/2014 09:00 AM 
  • Ending: 11/03/2014 12:00 AM
     
  • SW 9th Street between McKinley Avenue and Porter Avenue will be reduced to one-lane traffic in each direction beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2014. This restriction is necessary for the City’s contractor to begin the widening project on SW 9th Street in this area.

    The project will add a center left turn lane on SW 9th Street. Construction is expected to be completed late this year.

  • Robert D. Ray Drive north of Des Moines Street will be closed beginning at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 for reconstruction and expansion of the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, formerly called the Botanical Center. Access from East 6th Street will no longer be allowed. Access to the Botanical Garden parking lot will remain via Robert D. Ray Drive from Grand Avenue on the south end of the Botanical Garden. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area, obey all construction zone signing and expect delays.
