  • SW 9th Street between Leach Avenue and Emma Avenue
  • Starting: 05/26/2015 08:00 AM 
  • Ending: 06/03/2015 03:00 PM
     
  • The southbound curb lane of SW 9th Street between Leach Avenue and Emma Avenue will be closed during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2015 through Wednesday, June 3, 2015. During this time the street will be open to local traffic only. This lane restriction is needed for curb replacement.

    In case of inclement weather, the work will be rescheduled the following day or when weather permits.

    Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area and obey all construction zone signing.

  • LANE REDUCTION: Delaware Avenue from Boyd Street to Morton Avenue

  • Lanes will be reduced on Delaware Avenue from Boyd Street to Morton Avenue between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. beginning Saturday, May 23, 2015, through Friday, May 29, 2015. This lane reduction is necessary for a sewer and water disconnect at a single family dwelling on the east side of Delaware Avenue.

    Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area, obey all construction zone signing, and expect delays.

  • Williams Street from Dean Avenue to E University Avenue will be closed beginning at 9:00 AM on Monday, May 4, 2015, through Friday, June 19, 2015. This closure is necessary for work to replace a storm drainage culvert underneath Williams Street.

    A detour will be posted using E 30TH Street and E University Avenue during the closure.

  • Park Avenue from SW 28th Street to SW 33rd Street will be closed beginning Friday, May 1, 2015, through Friday, May 29, 2015. This closure is necessary to replace a water main.

    A detour is signed for Fleur Drive, and George Flagg Parkway.

    Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area, obey all construction zone signing, and expect delays.

  • LANE CLOSURE: SW 9th Street from Titus Avenue to Kenyon Avenue
  • Starting: 03/23/2015 09:00 AM 
  • Ending: 10/23/2015 06:00 PM
     
  • SW 9th Street between Titus Avenue and Kenyon Avenue will be reduced to one-lane traffic in each direction beginning Monday, March 23, 2015, for approximately 7 months. This restriction is necessary for the City’s contractor to begin the widening project on SW 9th Street in this area.

  • McKinley Avenue between SW 46th Street and SW 56th Street
  • Starting: 12/22/2014 12:00 AM
     
  • McKinley Avenue between SW 46th Street and SW 56th Street is permanently closed to all traffic. This section of roadway is currently in the process of being vacated in order to become future Airport property, and due to the structural condition of the bridge over Frink Creek just west of SW 46th Street, immediate closure is necessary.

  • Indianola Ave. between Easter Lake Dr. and E Porter Ave. Reopened
  • Starting: 11/21/2014 03:00 PM
     
  • Indianola Avenue between Easter Lake Drive and E Porter Avenue was reopened to traffic this afternoon. The closure was necessary as part of the Indianola Avenue Widening Phase 3 project.

  • Robert D. Ray Drive north of Des Moines Street

  • Robert D. Ray Drive north of Des Moines Street will be closed beginning at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013 for reconstruction and expansion of the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, formerly called the Botanical Center. Access from East 6th Street will no longer be allowed. Access to the Botanical Garden parking lot will remain via Robert D. Ray Drive from Grand Avenue on the south end of the Botanical Garden. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area, obey all construction zone signing and expect delays.
