Purpose

To evaluate, recommend, and effect policies and procedures that protect the City against accidental loss which, in the aggregate during any financial period, would significantly affect personnel, property, the budget, or the ability of City departments to continue to fulfill their responsibilities to taxpayers and the public.


Risk Management Responsibilities

The functions of the Risk Management Division are: (1) to systematically and continuously identify loss exposures and analyze these exposures in terms of frequency and severity probabilities and (2) apply sound risk control procedures and financing of risk consistent with the City's financial resources.
