Why do I need an account?
With a free or low-cost account you could save more than $45.00 a month by opening a bank account instead of paying expensive check cashing or money order fees.
It is safe
By depositing your money in a bank or credit union, you know for sure that it’s safe in case of an emergency and is even insured by the U.S. government.
It is convenient
With a checking account you can always have access to your money for little or no cost. You can pay bills with checks, on the Internet, or by direct debit. You can deposit your checks at ATMs, in the bank, or sign up for direct deposit so your checks are automatically deposited for you.
It helps you save for your future
Studies show that households with a bank account are more than twice as likely to save for the future. That’s more money to help you reach your financial goals such as buying a home, starting a business, or investing in your child’s education.
