Get to know the water fowl and land birds that stop by Gray’s Lake Park as they pause to refuel on their journey north during spring migration when you attend Birding Basics at Grays Lake. The lunch time sessions are free and everyone is invited to join along. Participants will meet from 11:00-11:45 am at Gray’s Lake every Wednesday starting March 1st and continuing through May 31st. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars if you have them – we have a few extra pairs if you forget yours. This program is free and open to all ages.
The first half of the series we will focus on water birds such as ducks, geese, loons, grebes, mergansers, pelicans, and herons. The public will meet in the beach parking lot on the north side of Gray’s Lake. For the second half of the series will meet in the southeast parking lot for viewing of songbirds such as warblers, vireos, thrushes, and sparrows.
