QuickStart Tennis 1
QuickStart Tennis is a new format to help kids seven and under, learn and the play the game of tennis. Morning lessons are from 10:00-10:55am or 11:00-11:55am taught at Birdland. Evening lessons are at 5:15-6:10pm taught at Waveland. For questions phone (515) 237-1405.

Age Group: Youth Ages 5 - 7
Fee: $30.00 Fee Includes: 6 Lessons and Quickstart T-Shirt
Racquet (no a six year old can't play with that wooden racquet sitting in the garage)
Kid's racquets - 19" appropriate for age 5 and 21" appropriate for ages 6 and 7
Tennis racquets are available to purchase the first day of each session for $13.00 while supplies last.

Ball
A foam ball which is better suited to their unique playing ability is used. it moves slower, bounces lower, is larger and two-color tone for better tracking, and travels less distance.
Court
The court dimensions are 36' long by 18' wide, with children playing across the width of a normal tennis court, with a portable mini net.
Scoring
The first to score seven points wins the game; the first to win two games wins the match. The longest a match will last is approximately 20 minutes.
Registration Period
Registrations taken all summer long, just return registration forms 3 days before each session starts.

A pressure less ball which is better suited to their unique playing ability is used. It is the same size as a normal tennis ball but moves slower, bounces lower, is two-color tone for better tracking.
Court
The court dimensions are 60' long by 21' wide (singles), 27" wide (doubles); roughly 75% of a regular size adult court.
Scoring
The best of three sets, the first to win four games wins a set. For the third set, the first player to win seven points wins the match. The longest a match will last is 40 minutes.
