  • Help Build More Trail

    Proceeds from the 2018 Mayor's Annual Ride and Run will fund the next phase of the Des Moines River Trail. Join us Saturday, April 21 for the 5k run/walk at 9 a.m and 23-mile ride at 10 a.m. Cost is $30 for adults, $5 for ages 5-18 before April 21. New this year, pre-event breakfast from 8 - 10 a.m. Register online now!

    Presented in partnership with Des Moines Public Schools, Youth Volleyball for kids in grades 1-7 will begin play in late March. Games and practices will be held at various schools and community recreation centers. Cost is $50/person or $475/team. Program is GRASP eligible.     Introduce your little ones to soccer with our Pee Wee Outdoor leagues for kids ages 3-6. Cost is $40 per child. Registration ends March 1.

  • Pee Wee Indoor Wiffle Ball

    This program introduces children ages 3-6 to team sports, teammates, and game situations while learning the basics of wiffle ball in a fun atmosphere. Each team has a parent-coach and is coed. All equipment, including a jersey, will be provided. Cost is $25 per child.

  • Get Your Green Gear Ready!

    The 3rd Annual Blarney Blast mixes a little bit of Ireland with a spring tournament. Games will be played mid March at the Greater Des Moines Softball Complex. Participation fee is $105.00 per team. Registration opens January 1st and continues through March 1st.
