    8/6/2014 - Des Moines taxpayers can have confidence in how their tax dollars are being managed because the City of Des Moines is receiving recognition for excellence in its governmental accounting and financial reporting practices. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) is awarding the city a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2013.
