This summer day camp is for children in grades 1-8. Your child will spend the summer learning, having fun and exploring Des Moines, including visits to Blank Park Zoo, Science Center of Iowa, Living History Farms, Iowa Cubs games, Adventureland, and local pools and parks.Activities are planned by Camp Fire Heart of Iowa. Co-sponsored by United Way and Des Moines Park & Recreation.

Get in touch with the world around you through activities like fishing, geocaching, printmaking, observational drawings, pond and water quality research, ecology, fort-building, hiking, tree identification, species documentation, outdoor cooking, nature investigation and MORE! iEARTH is a partnership between the Science Center of Iowa and Des Moines Park and Recreation.Come learn from outdoor enthusiasts, art teachers and environmental specialists. Have a blast with fun and safe supervised activities. On rainy days, we'll be indoors or take a field trip, but please come rain or shine and dress for the weather!Camps for Grades 5-8 will be based from Gray's Lake. Bring a lunch each day and meet at the terrace above the concession stand. In addition to nature activities, this group will go swimming, biking and canoeing. A schedule with additional details will be sent to you before camp begins.

Join Ralph on trips to community gardens to learn about growing your own plants and food. Kids help keep the gardens watered and free of weeds while developing their own green thumbs. Transportation provided from Evelyn K. Davis Park.
