Des Moines Parks and Recreation and Des Moines Public Schools are partnering to offer Youth Flag Football to children in grades 1-7. Volunteer coaches will lead practices and games. Score will be kept and referees are provided.Teams are divided into age groups: 1-2 grade, 3-4 grade and 5-6-7 grade. Team practices will take place once a week with games played Saturday mornings at a neighborhood location. There will be a 5-game regular season, and include playoffs at the end of the season. • Registration Period: July 6 - September 9, 2015• Cost: $475 per team or $50 individual registration, team jersey included and all other equipment provided• 8-week program, with practice beginning September 21, 2015

Des Moines Parks and Recreation offers Fall Softball leagues for both men and coed slow-pitch divisions. Teams play a 7-game schedule, one game per week, and must be registered with ASA Softball ($27). Teams that have played in Des Moines Parks and Recreation summer leagues in the same year are already ASA registered.• Registration Period: July 6 - August 16, 2015 • Cost: $195.00 per team• 7-game schedule plays from September 1 - October 25, 2015, 6-9 p.m. weeknights and 11 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. weekends

The First Tee of Greater Des Moines conducts outdoor and indoor instruction sessions through our certification program June - August. Golfers are grouped by age and experience level. Golf equipment (starter set of clubs with bag) is provided, if needed, as long as supplies last and “scholarships” are available to help cover program costs. Following the sessions, participants will take part in the certification process. Each lesson covers:•Life Skills•Rules and Etiquette•Full Swing•Short Game•PuttingThe fee for the summer program is $75/person. Reduced or no-cost fees are available for those who qualify

This summer day camp is for children in grades 1-8. Your child will spend the summer learning, having fun and exploring Des Moines, including visits to Blank Park Zoo, Science Center of Iowa, Living History Farms, Iowa Cubs games, Adventureland, and local pools and parks.Activities are planned by Camp Fire Heart of Iowa.
