    Registration is now open for “Bricks 4 Kidz,” a building series with an imaginative, 3-dimensional, hands on learning experience. During each class, participants will build a LEGO model using Bricks 4 Kidz unique project kits and model plans. With a new model each week, these simple machines are sure to excite your budding builders as they spin, roll and turn. Everything is provided for this 60 minutes of learning, building and playing.

    Designed for ages K-5, the cost is $39 for our 4-week session and $29 for our 3-week session. Online registration is now open at www.dmparks.org. If you live in the 50317 zip code, a reduced rate is available, sponsored by the Black Tie Foundation. In order to receive the discount, registration must be completed in person at Four Mile Community Center (3711 Easton Boulevard) 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday

  • What:

    This program allows children and adults to get together and play. It’s for anyone with children that would benefit from social interaction and playing with new friends, parents, grandparents, siblings, guardians etc. Any age is invited that enjoys playing and interacting with others using our equipment. Participants may play in, on or around the following (staff may put out different items each day) castle with climbing wall, play house, parachutes, tumbling mats, roller coasters, teeter totter, agility equipment, Imagination playground equipment, nerf balls, kitchen play station, tricycles, big wheels, jeep, cars etc. Great opportunity for developing your little ones balance, rhythm, coordination, life skills, in a fun and safe environment. You will see improvements in self confidence and play interaction with your child and other participants. Our Bounce House is provided for participant’s enjoyment every Friday of the month. Participants must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

    Cost is $2.50 per child

  • Birding Basics

  • What:

    Get to know the water fowl and land birds that stop by Gray’s Lake Park as they pause to refuel on their journey north during spring migration when you attend Birding Basics. The lunch time sessions will meet at 11:00-11:45 am at Gray’s Lake, Feb. 25 through May 20. Bring binoculars – we have a few extra pairs if you forget yours. New this year, each week we will introduce one specific bird at the start of the program and then go birding in the park. This program is free and open to all ages.
    Feb. 25 through April 1 the focus is on water birds such as ducks, geese, loons, grebes, mergansers, pelicans, and herons. The public will meet in the beach parking lot on the north side of Gray’s Lake. April 8 through May 20 sessions will meet in the southeast parking lot for viewing of songbirds such as warblers, vireos, thrushes, and sparrows.
