Hub Spot - 215 Water St
Des Moines Park and Recreation will be forming a new adult bean bag league.This league will be played at the Hub Spot. The Hub Spot has a top-notch patio area serving concessions and adult beverages. No outside food or beverages allowed.Teams of two adults (18 and older) compete on Wednesday nights for six weeks. Duos race to a score of 21 and play a set of five games. League play begins September 18. Match times range from 5:30 – 8 p.m. and will be determined after all of the teams have been finalized. Cost is $25 per team and the deadline is September 13. Des Moines Parks and Recreation offers YOUTH BASKETBALL leagues. Separate leagues are available for boys and girls with each offering divisions for 1st / 2nd grade, 3rd / 4th grade and 5th / 6th grade. Team entry fee is $475.00 and allows for a team roster of approximately ten players. Individual entry fee is $65.00 per child with draft teams formed from these entries. Entry fee provides a game shirt for each player, twelve-game schedule, end of season tournament, registered referees and game scorekeepers.

Gray's Lake Park
A “Canoeing Basics I” class is required to take this class. This class briefly revisits the fundamentals of canoeing basics, and then adds more paddling strokes and in-water rescue techniques. Equipment is provided. Dress in swimsuit, shorts, or other suitable clothing for getting wet. Minimum age is 10. A participant who is 10-15 years of age must be accompanied by a registered adult who is at least 21 years of age for his/her canoeing partner. Pre-Registration required at least 72 hours in advance.
