Four Mile Community Center or Pioneer Columbus Community Center
Des Moines Parks and Recreation offers separate men's and women's ADULTBASKETBALL leagues that register from the middle of October through the middle of November each year, with play starting the end of November. Teams play once a week at either Four Mile Community Center (3711 Easton Blvd) or Pioneer-Columbus Community Center (2100 SE 5th Street). Game times start at 6:00 p.m. with men's leagues playing on Mondays and women's leagues playing on Wednesdays. Entry fee is $330.00 per team for a 10-game schedule. Tournament play is offered at the end of the season.

Des Moines Parks and Recreation is hosting a bean bag tournament. The tournament will be held at Bright-Grandview Golf Course (2401 E 29th St). Concessions items and adult beverages will be available for purchase at Bright-Grandview Golf Course (no outside food/beverages allowed). Matches will be played outside or inside depending on the weather.This tournament is open to teams of two adults (18+), currently playing in the Des Moines Bags League and those who are not.Week one on November 13 will pool play, top finishers in each pool will advance to the championship round on November 20. Duos race to a score of 21 and play a set of five games. Cost is $10 per team and the deadline is November 4.Each individual will receive a t-shirt.

Four Mile Community Center - 3711 Easton Boulevard
Sign up today for this Merry Not Scary event. Families will walk an easy outdoor trail and meet some familiar and entertaining characters that are trying to get rid of the Wicked Witch of the Waste who is causing all types of pollution. The recycled Tin Man and the Composting Scarecrow along with the others will give you the clues you need to help defeat the Wicked Witch. The hike will take approximately 30 minutes, head inside for crafts, treats and some bounce house fun. Costumes are encouraged and make the event more fun! This event is free and for everyone but please preregister for a hike by noon on October 25 by calling 515 237-1386. Hikes start at 6:30, 6:40, 6:50, 7:00, 7:10, 7:20 and 7:30 p.m.
