The
Permit and Development Center (PDC)
functions as a central location for
most development related activities
in the City. These activities include
the review, approval, and inspection
of subdivision plats, site plans ad
building projects from commercial/industrial
to residential projects. Other functions
include zoning use inquiries, variance
and rezoning requests and other code
and licensing related information
related to property use and development.

The City of Des Moines also requires
that all Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing
and Sign Contractors be licensed by
the City. Call or check the web site
to verify if your contractor is licensed,
or if you are interested in information
about becoming a licensed contractor
within the City.
