Information
Technology (IT) plays a critical role
in providing City services to Des Moines
citizens. IT staff plays
an integral role in supporting the City's
internal operations with an infrastructure
that includes an extensive system of
networks, hardware, software and communications
facilities that combine to form
an integrated enterprise-wide information
and communications system. The
City's IT environment provides
an effective and efficient method for
improving City-wide information management
and communication to enhance internal
operations and external service delivery.

Our mission is to lead and support
the City of Des Moines organization
in the appropriate application of existing
and emerging information technologies
required to develop an information structure
that will enhance the ability of it's
officials, staff, and employees to provide
the highest level of service to the
citizens of Des Moines.

with superior customer service, provide
them with the most appropriate computer
technology, and assist them in their
ability to communicate effectively.
We actively promote, oversee, and coordinate
the regular use of technologies to improve
