  • Park Madness

    The field of 64 parks has been set and the voting begins March 21. This online contest encourages residents and park lovers to vote their favorite park or facility through to the finals in this bracket-style tournament. The winning location will host a Free Flicks movie later this summer. Voting will continue through Monday, April 8

  • Comprehensive Plan Approved

    LiveDSM, the Parks and Recreation Comprehensive plan, has been unanimously approved by the City Council as a component of PlanDSM, which is Des Moines' comprehensive plan. LiveDSM and its five core goals will serve as a guide to making improvements to the parks and recreation system over the next 20 years.
