• Gray's Lake Beach Closed

    The beach at Gray's Lake Park will remain closed until further notice. The concession stand is open but no boat rentals are allowed. No personal watercraft are allowed on the lake. The Moon Float scheduled for Friday, July 31 has been cancelled.

  • Kids Learn Rugby Free

    Youth of all ages are invited to participate in a free rugby clinic offered by the Iowa Youth Rugby Association to be held at Evelyn K. Davis Park starting at 3:30 Thursday, August 6. All equipment will be provided and no registration is necessary. No previous experience necessary. Participants receive free admission to the USA Rugby Men's and Women's 7s Club National Championships held at James W. Cownie Soccer Park.

  • Yoga in the Park

    Des Moines Parks and Recreation and UnityPoint Health - Des Moines invite you to enjoy your Saturday mornings by participating in a free weekly yoga session at Gray's Lake this summer. The class will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. every Saturday, June 6 through September 26.

  • UPCYCLE

    On the second Saturday of the month (May to October), join us at Greenwood Park from 9 a.m. to noon to collect invasive species and UPCYCLE them into food and fun for Blank Park Zoo’s animals. Gloves and tools are provided and please come prepared for working outdoors!
