    The gates to Gray’s Lake Park will once again open to visitors on Friday, July 3. There are areas of the park underwater and closed to the public, including the beach, the playground, the Kruidenier Trail along Fleur Drive as well as the boat rentals. The concession is open. Yoga in the Park will be moved to Union Park.

  • Yoga in the Park

    Des Moines Parks and Recreation and UnityPoint Health - Des Moines invite you to enjoy your Saturday mornings by participating in a free weekly yoga session at Gray's Lake this summer.

    The class will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. every Saturday, June 6 through September 26.

    Join us at Witmer Park for an hour of stories and nature based activities, perfect for preschool and elementary school kids. The fee is $3 for each session attended and registration is online at www.dmparks.org.

    Free Flicks is a summer-long series of outdoor movie showings throughout the Des Moines area. Each week will be a new film and a new location. Admission is free, films start after sunset around 9:00pm.

    On the second Saturday of the month (May to October), join us at Greenwood Park from 9 a.m. to noon to collect invasive species and UPCYCLE them into food and fun for Blank Park Zoo’s animals. Gloves and tools are provided and please come prepared for working outdoors!
