Ten sergeants have been selected from the Police Department and assigned to work with members of other city departments as individual teams. Other team members will represent the following: Fire Department; Parks and Recreation; Water Works; Public Works and Housing/Health and Zoning. The primary objective of the teams will be to assist the neighborhood in identifying and prioritizing concerns, planning a course of action and implementing a solution to the problem. The final stage will be to stabilize and revitalize the neighborhoods.
The sergeants are utilizing fully equipped, marked vehicles with a color scheme new and unique to this department. They are white SUVS' with a distinctive blue and gold striping package and decals designating them as part of the Neighborhood Enforcement Team. The housing/zoning inspectors will also have similar vehicles.
