Des Moines’ largest park is located at SE McKinley Avenue and Indianola Road and has two open-air shelters, playgrounds, an 18-hole disc golf course, trail, pond, lilac arboretum, Children’s Forest, lots of shade, parking and open space. BMX and soap box derby organizations lease space in the park for their groups’ events.
