Kwest in the Parks

The Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department in cooperation with Kum & Go want to invite kids to participate in a new joint partnership for children called “Kwest in the Parks”. This partnership is designed to provide young park visitors with activities to complete while visiting parks, pools and park-sponsored events and then to unscramble a word jumble in the Kwest in the Parks Passport (available at Kum & Go locations and through the Parks and Recreation department). Every other week when a clue is found in a park, the Passport must be stamped at a Kum & Go location to receive a free Koolie. New words will be displayed every two weeks between May and November complete a secret phrase to solve.

The financial support from Kum & Go will assist the Parks and Recreation Department in providing a series of environmental educational programs throughout the summer at the City’s wading pool locations. We hope you enjoy your Kwest!

The secret phrase was:
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world."
-Margaret Mead
