Power Engineers Examining Board

• Description

  Holds examinations for licensing of Stationary Boiler Engineers and Stationary Boiler Firemen.

• General Requirements

  Six members: 5 members shall be recommended by the Mayor; the Senior Mechanical Inspector shall be an ex officio member. Board members shall not be interested, directly or indirectly, in the sale or agency of any equipment, apparatus, or service that could be construed in any manner as affecting his or her impartial judgment. TERM LIMITS DO NOT APPLY

• Professional Requirements

  Each appointee shall be the holder of a first-class engineer's license in the City.

• Meeting Information

  Regular meetings and examinations are held separately. Other meetings may be scheduled to hear appeals from decisions of the Senior Inspector or to deal with special issues. Examinations, which are regularly held on the first Tuesday of every month, require the presence of board members to assist in the proctoring and grading of exams.
