AGENDA HEADING:
Ordering construction of the following: Crivaro Park Redevelopment - Phase 2 - Receiving bids, (6-6-06), and Setting date of hearing, (6-19-06). (Construction Estimate - $112,200).
SYNOPSIS:
Proceed with construction of the improvement utilizing the method of financing referenced below. The proposed parking lot will provide safe, convenient, off-street parking from Railroad Avenue for the open-air shelter and wading pool. The existing deteriorated asphalt parking lot along the levee will be removed per the approved master plan. This parking lot design will incorporate conservation techniques such as a bio-swale and landscape screening of vehicles. Other improvements to the park in this phase include a 9-hole disc course that will compliment the park and additional over story, flowering, and evergreen trees to provide shade and color to the landscape.

Amount: $112,200 City Engineer's Estimate
Funding Source: 2006-2007 CIP, Page Park-17, Park Redevelopment, PKS100, G. O. Bonds
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The Engineering Department has prepared plans, specifications, form of contract documents, and City Engineer’s estimate for the construction of the Crivaro Park Redevelopment - Phase 2, 11-2005-015. The improvement includes construction of a 40-stall parking lot, sidewalk, disc golf course, earthwork, and plantings; all in accordance with the contract documents including plan file nos. 462-119/123 at Crivaro Park, 1105 E. Railroad Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.
The estimated construction cost is $112,200. The proposed plans, specifications, and form of contract documents are available for public inspection in the City Engineer's office.
