AGENDA HEADING:
SYNOPSIS:
Recommend authorization to acquire
necessary right-of-way and easements for the above project. This action is required by Iowa law before
the City can initiate the right-of-way acquisition process under eminent
domain.
FISCAL IMPACT:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The Ingersoll
Avenue Streetscape Improvements Project from the 28th Street
intersection to the 31st Street intersection includes planting,
lighting, street trees, street furniture, signage and traffic calming
improvements. The pilot project is an
outcome of a two-year planning effort with the Ingersoll Area Association and
the surrounding neighborhood associations.
This effort culminated in the development of the Ingersoll Avenue
Improvement Plan. The neighborhood has
raised funds for a portion of this project, as well as approved a
Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District (SSMID) for long-term
maintenance.
Several
temporary easements will be needed to reconstruct driveway approaches and several
permanent easements are needed for storm sewer improvements that will be made
in conjunction with this project.

placed upon its final passage and that the ordinance do now pass, #14,628. Motion Carried 6-0. Mayor Cownie declares a conflict of interest
and abstains from voting.
