AGENDA HEADING:

 

Approving Bond Reduction for Carman Estates Plat 3.

 

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Recommend approval of the partial release of the required surety for the bond for sidewalks. Staff recommends that the bond of $19,538 be reduced to $8,828 because of partial completion of the required infrastructure in the plat area as determined by the Engineering Department.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:  NONE

 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

 

The City Council on December 8, 2003, approved the original bond for infrastructure improvements in the amount of $19,538.  The developer, Silver Oak, L.L.C., Ron Grubb, Principal, 3301 106th Street, Urbandale, IA 50322, has requested a reduction in the required surety since much of the required improvements have been made.  The Engineering Department has confirmed that much of the required work has been completed, but the amount of work remaining needs to have surety in the amount of $8,828 to make sure the remaining improvements will be in place when the development in the plat is completed.
