Approving Professional Services Agreement with Shuck-Britson, Inc. for evaluation, design, and construction phase services for the Fleur Drive Bridge over the Raccoon River Rehabilitation, not to exceed $188,260.

 

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Approval of the Professional Services Agreement with Shuck-Britson, Inc., Tim Monson, President, 2409 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa, 50312, for hourly rates not to exceed $188,260, to provide evaluation, design, and construction phase services for the Fleur Drive Bridge over the Raccoon River Rehabilitation.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

 

The rehabilitation of the Fleur Drive Bridge over the Raccoon River was identified as a high priority project in the 2005 City-Wide Bridge and Structure Evaluation.  A Request for Proposal (RFP) for these professional services was sent to seven consultants and posted on the City’s web site.  Six proposals were received in response to the RFP.  A selection committee composed of representatives from Public Works, Traffic & Transportation, and Engineering rated the proposals.  Shuck-Britson, Inc. was the selection of the committee based on their qualifications, defined approach to this project, and established performance with the City.

 

Staff has negotiated a Professional Services Agreement with Shuck-Britson, Inc., for hourly rates not to exceed a total of $188,260, to provide evaluation, design, and construction phase services.
