Approval of Renewal Request for the Designated Housing Allocation Plan.

 

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Recommend approval of the resolution to retain elderly housing designations for Eastview Manor, Southview Manor, Oak Park Plaza, and Highland Park Plaza.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

 

The City of Des Moines Municipal Housing Agency (DMMHA) adopts a Designated Housing Allocation Plan to identify units for occupancy by elderly and near elderly families pursuant to Federal Regulations.  Council first approved submission of a Designated Housing Allocation Plan, which designated Eastview Manor, Southview Manor, Highland Park, and Oak Park Manors as housing for occupancy by elderly and near elderly persons, to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on January 8, 2001. This plan was renewed for two years by the Municipal Housing Governing Board on December 19, 2005. 

 

The City of Des Moines Municipal Housing Agency is submitting a request to HUD to extend this Designated Housing Allocation Plan for an additional two years.
