ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The 2007 Expanded Street
Resurfacing Program Contract 2 project includes scarification of existing
asphalt streets, furnishing and placement of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) resurfacing,
pavement markings, and other incidental items.
The asphalt street surface on Court Avenue from
Aesthetically, it is very desirable
to enhance the appearance of Court Avenue to coincide with the streetscape
improvements and recent development by resurfacing the street with new asphalt. This resurfacing must be completed prior to
the opening of the Downtown Farmers Market in May. To avoid conflicts with the Downtown Farmers
Market, this change order has been negotiated with Des Moines Asphalt &
Paving Co. Des Moines Asphalt &
Paving Co. has agreed to an extension of the existing May 2007 contract unit
prices for this work, which should result in savings to the City over 2008
construction prices.
