AGENDA HEADING:

 

Authorization to proceed with acquisition of the necessary right-of-way and easements for the SW 7th Street and Indianola Road Intersection Improvements Project by gift, negotiation, or condemnation.

 

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Recommend authorization to acquire necessary right-of-way and easements for the above project.  Iowa law requires this action before the City can initiate the right-of-way acquisition process under eminent domain.  The project will only require a small utility easement west of Impulse Nightclub, which is located at 508 Indianola Road, and owned by DMM Investments, LLC, Edward Mauro, Registered Agent, 2333 McKinley Avenue, Suite 1, Des Moines, IA  50321.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

Amount:  $500 estimated for right-of-way acquisition.

 

Funding Source:  2007-08 CIP, Street Improvements, SW Seventh Street and Indianola Road Intersection Improvements, STR228, Page Street 45

 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

 

The SW 7th Street and Indianola Road Improvements Project includes reconfiguration of the intersection of SW 7th Street and Indianola Road by removal and replacement of medians, hot-mix asphalt, traffic signals, pavement marking, and other incidental items.  The improvements are located on Indianola Road from just east of SW 9th Street to just east of SW 7th Street.

 

The project will only require a small utility easement west of Impulse Nightclub, which is located at 508 Indianola Road, and owned by DMM Investments, LLC, Edward Mauro, Registered Agent, 2333 McKinley Avenue, Suite 1, Des Moines, IA  50321.
