AGENDA HEADING:

 

Authorization to proceed with acquisition of additional temporary construction easements for the widening of 34th Street as part of the Ingersoll Run Storm Sewer – 34th Street to 35th Street Project by gift, negotiation, or condemnation.

 

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Recommend Council authorization to proceed with acquisition of additional temporary construction easements for the widening of 34th Street as part of the Ingersoll Run Storm Sewer – 34th Street to 35th Street Project by gift, negotiation, or condemnation.  Two additional temporary construction easements are needed on private property for the widening of 34th Street.  All required property interests from Dahl’s have been acquired previously.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

Amount:  $2500 estimated plus closing costs

 

Funding Source:  2008-09 CIP, 50% Sanitary Sewer Improvements, City-Wide Sanitary Sewers, SAE054, Page – Sanitary Sewer Improvements 5, and 50% Storm Water Improvements, City-Wide Storm Water Utility Projects, STE057, Page – Storm Water Improvements 4.

 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

 

The Ingersoll Run Storm Sewer – 34th Street to 35th Street Project provides an outlet for future projects that will separate combined sewers as required in the Des Moines Long Term Control Plan.  The improvement includes construction of 12” and 15” storm sewer, 6’ x 6’ reinforced concrete box culvert, storm manholes, storm intakes, special structure, 8” PCC pavement, 7” and 8” PCC driveways, 4” and 6” PCC sidewalk, 8” water main relocation, and miscellaneous associated work including cleanup; in accordance with the contract documents, including Plan File Nos. 479-139/149, and located from 34th Street to 35th Street, between Ingersoll Avenue and Woodland Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. 

 

Two additional temporary construction easements are needed on private property for the widening of 34th Street.  All property interests needed from Dahl’s have been acquired previously.  The only relocation required will be a sign on one of the properties.
