AGENDA HEADING:

 

Resolution approving a concurrent notice to the public and request for the release of funds from the Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) for State CDBG Housing Disaster Recovery Funds.

 

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Recommend Council approval of the Environmental Review Record and determinations for the CDBG Supplemental Housing Disaster Recovery Funds under IDED contract 08-DRH-009 and have the Mayor execute the Request for Release of Funds. The Community Development Department performs the environmental review as the HUD designated Responsible Entity (RE).

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

Amount:  $588,507.

 

Funding Source:  The Iowa Department of Economic Development is providing funding for the CDBG Housing Disaster Recovery Fund. No City matching funds are required.

 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

 

The Iowa Department of Economic Development has a contract (08-DRH-009) with the City of Des Moines for funding through the CDBG Housing Disaster Recovery Fund for the primary purpose of assisting program eligible low and moderate income persons and families with housing repair and rehabilitation, homebuyer assistance and interim mortgage assistance.
