AGENDA HEADING:

 

Amending Chapter 114 of the Municipal Code regarding traffic regulation changes as follows:

 

A.                One-Side Parking Restrictions—Sawyer’s Landing Plats I and II.

 

B.        One-Side Parking Restrictions—Carman Estates Plat 6.

 

C.        Four-Way Stop—Intersection of 13th Street and Mulberry Street.

 

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Recommend approval of the Traffic and Transportation Division staff recommendations for minor parking adjustments, including first reading of the Ordinance regarding the traffic regulation changes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

 

A.        With the approval of Sawyer’s Landing Plats I and II, the Traffic and Transportation Division recommends that parking be restricted to one side of each street throughout the subdivision.  The one-side parking restrictions will facilitate emergency vehicle access, snow removal, and mail delivery.  It is recommended that parking be prohibited on the west side of 29th Street, the north side of Bel-Aire Road, the south side of Merced Drive, the west side of Sawyer’s Drive, and the north side of Twana Drive.  The following revisions to the Municipal Code are necessary to place these restrictions into effect.

 

Sec. 114-2857. Twenty-ninth Street‑‑Forest Drive to Aurora Avenue north city limits.

 

Twenty-ninth Street, on the west side, from Merced Drive to Twana Drive, no parking any time.

            

Sec. 114-3488. Merced Street – the cul-de-sac east of Twenty-ninth Street Thirty-eighth Street to Fifty-fourth Street.

 

Merced Street, on the south side, from and including the cul-de-sac east of Twenty-ninth Street to Thirtieth Street, no parking any time.

 

Sec. 114-3010. Bel-Aire Road – Sawyers Drive Thirtieth Street to dead end west of Fifty-first Street.

 

Bel-Aire Road, on the north side, from Sawyers Drive a point 900 feet east of Lawnwoods Drive to Lower Beaver Road, no parking any time.

 

Sec. 114-3620.5 Sawyers Drive – Hillcrest Drive to Twana Drive.

 

Sawyers Drive, on the west side, from Hillcrest Drive to Twana, no parking any time.

 

Sec. 114-3683. Twana Drive – Twenty-ninth Street Thirtieth Street to Fifty-fourth Street.

 

Twana Drive, on the north side, from and including the cul-de-sac at Twenty-ninth Street Thirtieth Street to Lower Beaver Road, no parking any time.

 

B.        With the approval of Carman Estates Plat 6, the Traffic and Transportation Division recommends that parking be restricted to one side of each street throughout the subdivision.  The one-side parking restrictions will facilitate emergency vehicle access, snow removal, and mail delivery.  It is recommended that parking be prohibited on the east and west sides of SE 24th Street, the west side of SE 25th Court, the west side of SE 25th Street, the south side of E Southlawn Drive, the north and south sides of Hart Avenue, and the north side of East Highview Drive.  The following revisions to the Municipal Code are necessary to place these restrictions into effect.

 

Sec. 114-2825. Southeast Twenty-fourth Street‑‑Scott Avenue to Philip Avenue East Payton Avenue.

 

Southeast Twenty-fourth Street, on the west side, from East Porter Avenue to Hart Avenue, no parking any time.

 

Southeast Twenty-fourth Street, on the east side, from Hart Avenue to East Payton Avenue, no parking any time.

 

Sec. 114-2828. Southeast Twenty-fifth Court‑‑East Market Street to C.B. & Q. Street East Payton Avenue.

 

Southeast Twenty-fifth Court, on the west side, from Hart Avenue south to and including the cul-de-sac, no parking any time.

 

Sec. 114-2832. Southeast Twenty-fifth Street‑‑East Court Avenue to East Leach Avenue East Payton Avenue.

 

Southeast Twenty-fifth Street, on the west side, from Hart Avenue to East Payton Avenue, no parking any time.

 

Sec. 114-3288. Hart Avenue‑‑South Union Street to Southeast Thirty-first Street.

 

 

Hart Avenue, on the south side, from Indianola Avenue to Southeast Twenty-fifth Court, no parking any time.

 

Hart Avenue, on the north side, from Southeast Twenty-fifth Court to the dead end east of Southeast Twenty-fifth Street, no parking any time.

 

Sec. 114-3317.5.  East Highview Drive—East Indianola Avenue to East City Limits. 

 

East Highview Drive, on the north side, from Southeast Twenty-fifth Street to and including the cul-de-sac to the west, no parking any time.

 

Sec. 114-3646.1.  East Southlawn Drive--Southeast Twenty-fourth Street Twenty-ninth Court to East City Limits. 

 

East Southlawn Drive, on the south side, from Southeast Twenty-fourth Street to the dead end east of Southeast Twenty-fourth Street, no parking any time.

 

C.        In conjunction with the opening of a portion of the new Nationwide parking garage.  Stop signs have been installed at the intersection of 13th Street and Mulberry Street to make this intersection a four-way stop.  This traffic control provision was made effective by Police Order on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, pending City Council approval of the ordinance.  The following revisions to the Municipal Code will make this four-way stop permanent.

Sec. 114-2025.  Thirteenth Street.

 

Thirteenth Street, from the north line of Cherry Mulberry Street to the south line of High Street, stop.
