AGENDA HEADING:

 

Approving Professional Services Agreement with Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC, to provide design and construction phase services for the East Army Post Trunk Sanitary Sewer not to exceed $118,250.

 

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Recommend approval of the Professional Services Agreement with Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC, Nicholas Kuhn, Senior Vice President, 8191 Birchwood Court, Suite L, Johnston, Iowa 50131, at hourly rates not to exceed $118,250, to provide design and construction phase services for the East Army Post Trunk Sanitary Sewer.

Funding Source:  2009-10 CIP, Page Sanitary-10, SAE127, East Army Post Road Trunk Sewer Project, Sanitary Sewer Revenue Funds. 

 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

 

The East Army Post Trunk Sanitary Sewer project provides for the construction of a trunk sanitary sewer system to provide sanitary sewer service for the area lying north of East Army Post Road from the 3000 block to Indianola Avenue, and on the north and south sides of East Army Post Road from Indianola Avenue to the 1900 block of East Army Post Road.  This trunk sewer will allow the area to develop at the densities required to make the area an asset and to provide for the growth that is projected.  After construction plans and estimate are prepared, a trunk sewer connection fee district will be developed for City Council consideration to provide for the collection of fees to reimburse the City for the construction cost associated with the project, as the area develops. 

 

City of Des Moines posted the Request for Proposal (RFP) on the City of Des Moines website.  Fourteen consultants submitted Proposals.  A Selection Committee of City Public Works and Engineering Department staff reviewed and evaluated the Proposals that were submitted by the consultants.  Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC was selected for the East Army Post Trunk Sanitary Sewer project.  Staff has negotiated a Professional Services Agreement with Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC, at hourly rates not to exceed $118,250, to provide design and construction phase services.
