of real estate documents from MidAmerican Energy Company for the Principal
Riverwalk Project.
SYNOPSIS:
Recommend
approval and acceptance of real estate documents for acquisition of a permanent
easement from MidAmerican Energy Company, Brian K. Knights, Right-of-way
Services Manager, P.O. Box 657,
Des Moines, Iowa,
50306-8705, for
$200. This action is required to
authorize closing of the necessary property interests required from MidAmerican
Energy Company.

ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION:
In the process of the City completing survey work
for the Principal Riverwalk Project, it was discovered that the existing City floodwall
encroaches onto the northeast corner of MidAmerican Energy Company’s substation
property located at East Grand
Avenue and 2nd Avenue. In order to resolve this property
encroachment, MidAmerican Energy Company has agreed to grant the City of Des Moines a permanent
easement for flood protection levee and floodwall for the consideration of
$200.
