AGENDA HEADING:

 

Approving purchase of Portable Mortar Application Trailer.

 

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Recommend approval to purchase a Portable Mortar Application Trailer in accordance with specifications of Bid No. V09-105 to be used by the Sewers Division of the Public Works Department for repair of sewers, from Action Products Marketing Corporation dba AP/M Permaform, 6250 NW Beaver Dr. STE 1, Johnston IA 50131, Keith Walker, General Manager, in the amount of $65,000.

 

 

 FISCAL IMPACT:

 

Amount: $65,000

 

Funding Source:  Sanitary Sewer Enterprise Fund, Maintenance Operations, EN101, PWK071000, FY09 Operating Budget, page 290.

 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

 

This equipment is an addition to the fleet under the Sewers Enhanced Maintenance Program and consists of a diesel powered air compressor unit, hydraulically driven pump and pneumatic system utilizing mortar to repair existing sewers. The diesel engine will use biodiesel fuel.

 

Ten (10) bids were mailed and two (2) responses were received. The low bidder, Madewell Products Corporation, Alphareta, GA was not compliant in the requirements of a stainless steel material hopper, electric crane for material handling, and engine and accessories warranties, therefore it is recommended to award to the lowest compliant bidder, AP/M Permaform.
