ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION:
In June of
2008, City Council authorized that an application be submitted to the IDOT for upgrading
the traffic signals at the intersection of Hubbell Avenue and Easton Boulevard. The IDOT has approved $100,000 for this
project. The remaining costs, including
design, inspection, and construction administration, are to be funded by the
City. The total City cost is estimated
to be $15,000.
This
project provides for new traffic signals at this intersection. New signal poles will be installed outside
the 10-foot clear zone. New mast arms
with overhead signals and back plates will be installed. Because of the proximity of Fire Station No.
3, fire pre-emption would be included in the signal design. The signals will continue to be interconnected
into the city’s east side traffic signal system.
