AGENDA HEADING:

 

Resolution approving the concurrent notice to the public of finding of no significant impact on the environment and request for the release of funds from the Iowa Department of Economic Development for funds from the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance and Continuing Appropriations Act of 2009.

 

 

SYNOPSIS:

 

Recommend Council approval of the Environmental Review Record and determinations for the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Funds under the Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) and have the Mayor Pro-Tem execute the request for release of funds. The Community Development Department performs the environmental review as the HUD designated Responsible Entity (RE).  Funds will be used to assist eligible low and moderate income persons and families with housing repair and rehabilitation, homebuyer assistance and interim mortgage assistance.

 

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

 

Amount:  $1,008,869.

 

Funding Source:  The Iowa Department of Economic Development is providing funding for the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Fund. No city matching funds are required.

 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

 

The Iowa Department of Economic Development indicates that the City of Des Moines is a proposed recipient for funding through the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Fund of 2009 for the primary purpose of assisting programs.

Motion Carried 7-0.
