AGENDA
HEADING:
Resolution
approving notices to the public for projects to be located in a floodplain, and
a request for the release of funds from the Iowa Department of Economic
Development (IDED) for funds from the Consolidated Security, Disaster
Assistance and Continuing Appropriations Act of 2009.
SYNOPSIS:
Approve the Public Notices for the Disaster Recovery
Infrastructure Projects and authorize the Mayor to execute the Request for the
Release of Funds from IDED.
FISCAL

Receive IDED Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
funding under the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance and Continuing
Appropriations Act of 2009 (P.L.
110-329).

ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION:
The public notices for projects 08-DRI-005 and
08-DRI-006 were not published in Des Moines on the dates listed in the July 13,
2009 Council Agenda. This action is to reauthorize and direct the City Clerk’s
Office to publish the attached notices in the Des Moines Register.
The Iowa Department of Economic Development awarded CDBG
Disaster Recovery Infrastructure funds to the City of Des Moines, Iowa, for
three contracted projects:
- 08-DRI-005 Proposed
Emergency Power Generators at Five Storm Water Pump Stations in Birdland
and Central Places Areas;
- 08-DRI-006 Proposed
Livingston Ave. Storm Sewer System Lining;
- 08-DRI-007 Proposed
Lining of the Sanitary Sewers in the Eastern Portion of the Highland Hills
Sanitary Sewer Subsystem. (published)
