AGENDA
HEADING:
Resolution
approving the Publication of the Notice to the Public of Finding of No
Significant Impact on the Environment for funds from the Iowa Department of
Economic Development from the Consolidated Security, Disaster Assistance, and
Continuing Appropriations Act of 2009.
SYNOPSIS:
Request
Council approval to Publish the Public Notice of
Finding of No Significant Impact on the Environment for the Consolidated
Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Funds under the
Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) for acquisition and demolition
activities. The Community Development Department performs the environmental
review as the HUD designated Responsible Entity (RE).
FISCAL
IMPACT:
Amount: $162,390
Funding Source: The Iowa Department of Economic Development
is providing funding for the Consolidated
Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Fund. No City matching funds are required.
ADDITIONAL
INFORMATION:
The City of Des Moines is a recipient of funding
through the Consolidated
Security, Disaster Assistance, and Continuing Appropriations Fund of 2009 through contracts 08-DRMH-016
for $37,927 and 08-DRMH-021 for $124,463 for the purpose of acquisition and/or
demolition, housing repair/rehabilitation, homebuyer assistance, interim
mortgage assistance, rental repair/rehabilitation (small projects), rental
repair/rehabilitation (large projects), single family new construction,
multi-family new construction, public facilities and services and economic
development. This republication of the May 20, 2009 Public Notice includes unintentionally
omitted language.
