ORDINANCE NO. 13,688

AN ORDINANCE to amend the Municipal Code of Des Moines, 1991, adopted by Ordinance No. 11,651, passed April 15, 1991, as heretofore amended, by repealing Section 8-60 thereof and enacting a new Section 8-60, adopting the National Electrical Code, 1999 Edition.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa:

Section 1. That the Municipal Code of Des Moines, 1991, adopted by Ordinance No. 11,651, passed April 15, 1991, as amended by Ordinance No. 13,409 passed January 6, 1997, as amended by Ordinance No. 11,990 passed June 7, 1993, be and is hereby amended by repealing Section 8-60 thereof and enacting a new Section 8-60, adopting the National Electrical Code, 1999 Edition, as follows:

8-60. ADOPTION OF NATIONAL CODE.

This subchapter shall consist of the "National Electrical Code, 1999 Edition," published by the National Fire Protection Association, commonly known as and referred to herein as the "National Electrical Code," a copy of which is on file in the office of the city clerk of Des Moines, Iowa, which National Electrical Code is incorporated herein by this reference as fully as though set forth in its entirety and shall further consist of such additional provisions as are set forth in this subchapter.


 

Sec. 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
