AN ORDINANCE to amend the Municipal Code of Des Moines, 1991, adopted by Ordinance No. 11,651, passed April 15, 1991, and amended by Ordinance No. 11,848, passed July 6, 1992 and amended by Ordinance No. 11,935, passed March 15, 1993, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,501, passed June 23, 1997, by repealing Sections 27-306.01, 27-1503, 27-1976, 27-1977, and 27-1978 thereof and enacting new Sections 27-306.01, 27-1503, 27-1976, 27-1977, and 27-1978, relating to traffic regulation changes.

Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa:

Section 1. That the Municipal Code of Des Moines, 1991, adopted by Ordinance No. 11,651, passed April 15, 1991, and amended by Ordinance No. 11,848, passed July 6, 1992 and amended by Ordinance No. 11,935, passed March 15, 1993, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,501, passed June 23, 1997, is hereby amended by repealing Sections 27-306.01, 27-1503, 27-1976, 27-1977, and 27-1978 thereof and enacting new Sections 27-306.01, 27-1503, 27-1976, 27-1977, and 27-1978, regarding traffic regulation chances, as follows:

27-306.01. TRAFFIC LANES ALLOCATED.

No person shall operate a vehicle in violation of the signs erected or pavement markings installed giving notice of the allocation of lanes of the street designated in this section. The director of traffic and transportation shall cause necessary and appropriate signs to be posted or necessary pavement markings installed along the street designated herein, informing the general public of the restrictions:

On Southeast First Street, from Riverside Drive to Edison Avenue, one lane northbound, one lane southbound, and the center lane northbound and southbound left turn only.

On Southeast First Street, from Riverside Drive to Indianola Avenue, two lanes southbound and one lane northbound.

On Sixth Avenue, from Ascension Street to Euclid Avenue, two lanes northbound, two lanes southbound, and the center lane northbound and southbound left turn only.

On Southwest Ninth Street, from West Street to Wade Street, one lane northbound, one lane southbound, and the center lane northbound and southbound left turn only.

On Southwest Ninth Street, from a point 230 feet south of McKinley Avenue to a point 300 feet south thereof, two lanes northbound, two lanes southbound, and the center lane northbound and southbound left turn only.

On Easton Boulevard, from East Twenty-second Street to Avenue Frederick M. Hubbell, two lanes eastbound and one lane westbound.

On Bell Avenue, from 200 feet east of Fleur Drive to 150 feet west of Druid Hill Drive, one lane eastbound, one lane westbound, and center lane eastbound and westbound left-turn only.

On Grand Avenue, from West Third Street to East Sixth Street, one lane eastbound and the remaining lanes westbound.

On Crocker Street, from Sixteenth Street to Nineteenth Street, two lanes westbound and one lane eastbound.

On Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, from Woodland Avenue to Center Street, two lanes southbound and one lane northbound.

On University Avenue, from Twenty-fourth Street to Thirty-first Street, two lanes eastbound, two lanes westbound, and the center lane eastbound and westbound left turn only.

On Beaver Avenue, from Urbandale Avenue to a point 290 feet north of Madison Avenue, and from Shawnee Avenue to Aurora Avenue, one-lane northbound, one-lane southbound, and the center lane northbound and southbound left turn only.

27-1976. BEAVER AVENUE--FRANKLIN AVENUE TO URBANDALE AVENUE.

Beaver Avenue, on both sides, from Franklin Avenue to Holcomb Avenue, no parking any time.

Beaver Avenue, on the east side, from Holcomb Avenue to Sheridan Avenue, two hour parking, 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Beaver Avenue, on the east side, from Sheridan Avenue to a point 75 feet north thereof, no parking any time.

Beaver Avenue, on the east side, from a point 75 feet north of Sheridan Avenue to a point 95 feet south of Urbandale Avenue, two hour parking, 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Beaver Avenue, onboth sides, from Urbandale Avenue to a point 95 feet south thereof, no parking any time.

Beaver Avenue, on the west side, from Holcomb Avenue to a point 50 feet south of Beavercrest Drive, two hour parking 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Beaver Avenue, on the west side, from a point 50 feet south of Beavercrest Drive to a point 50 feet north of Beavercrest Drive, no parking any time.

Beaver Avenue, on the west side, from a point 50 feet north of Beavercrest Drive to a point 95 feet south of Urbandale Avenue, two hour parking 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

27-1977. BEAVER AVENUE--URBANDALE AVENUE TO DOUGLAS AVENUE.

Beaver Avenue, on the east side, from Urbandale Avenue to Fagan Drive, no parking any time.

Beaver Avenue, on the west side, from Urbandale Avenue to Douglas Avenue, no parking any time.

Beaver Avenue, on the east side, from Fagan Drive to a point 50 feet south of Adams, no parking 1:00 P.M. Sunday through 1:00 A.M. the following Sunday.

Beaver Avenue, on the east side, from a point 200 feet north of Adams Avenue to a point 350 feet north thereof, bus loading and unloading, 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., school days, parking allowed from 1:00 A.M. Sunday to 1:00 P.M. Sunday, no parking at all other times.

Beaver Avenue, on the east side, from a point 50 feet south of Adams Avenue to a point 200 feet north of Adams Avenue, no parking any time.

Beaver Avenue, the east side, from a point 550 feet north of Adams to Douglas Avenue, no parking any time.

27-1978. BEAVER AVENUE--DOUGLAS AVENUE TO NORTH CITY LIMITS.

Beaver Avenue, on both sides, from Douglas Avenue to a point 290 feet north of Madison Avenue, no parking any time.

Beaver Avenue, on both sides, from a point 100 feet south of Shawnee Avenue to the north city limits, to a point 290 feet north of Madison Avenue, no parking any time.

Sec. 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
