AN ORDINANCE to amend the Municipal Code of Des Moines, 1991, adopted by Ordinance No. 11,651, passed April 15, 1991, and amended by Ordinance No. 11,722, passed September 23, 1991, and amended by Ordinance No. 11,725, passed September 23, 1991, and amended by Ordinance 11,951, passed March 15, 1993, and amended by Ordinance No. 11,987, passed May 17, 1993, and amended by Ordinance No. 12,042, passed September 27, 1993, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,159, passed February 27, 1995, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,393, passed November 18, 1996, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,407, passed January 6, 1997, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,529, passed October 6, 1997, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,567, passed January 19, 1998, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,573, passed February 9, 1998, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,581, passed March 2, 1998, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,647, passed October 5, 1998, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,705, passed May 3, 1999, by repealing Sections 27-319.02, 27-720, 27-774, 27-775, 27-1125, 27-1132, 27-1153, 27-1637, 27-1648, 27-1658, 27-2061, 27-2340, and 27-2902, thereof and enacting new Sections 27-319.02, 27-720, 27-774, 27-775, 27-1132, 27-1153, 27-1637, 27-1648, 27-1658, 27-2061, 27-2340, 27-2902, and adding and enacting new Sections 27-716.01, 27-850.01, 27-1132.01, 27-1153,01 and 27-1614.01 relating to traffic regulation changes.

Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa:

Section 1. That the Municipal Code of Des Moines, 1991, adopted by Ordinance No. 11,651, passed April 15, 1991, and amended by Ordinance No. 11,722, passed September 23, 1991, and amended by Ordinance No. 11,725, passed September 23, 1991, and amended by Ordinance 11,951, passed March 15, 1993, and amended by Ordinance No. 11,987, passed May 17, 1993, and amended by Ordinance No. 12,042, passed September 27, 1993, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,159, passed February 27, 1995, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,393, passed November 18, 1996, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,407, passed January 6, 1997, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,529, passed October 6, 1997, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,567, passed January 19, 1998, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,573, passed February 9, 1998, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,581, passed March 2, 1998, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,647, passed October 5, 1998, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,705, passed May 3, 1999, are hereby amended by repealing Sections 27-319.02, 27-720, 27-774, 27-775, 27-1125, 27-1132, 27-1153, 27-1637, 27-1648, 27-1658, 27-2061, 27-2340, and 27-2902, thereof and enacting new Sections 27-319.02, 27-720, 27-774, 27-775, 27-1132, 27-1153, 27-1637, 27-1648, 27-1658, 27-2061, 27-2340, 27-2902, and adding and enacting new Sections 27-716.01, 27-850.01, 27-1132.01, 27-1153,01 and 27-1614.01 relating to traffic regulation changes, as follows:

27-319.02. THREE-WAY STOP INTERSECTIONS--LOCATIONS DESIGNATED.

The following intersections are hereby designated as three-way intersections. Stop signs shall be installed and maintained at the following intersections and the driver of a vehicle approaching these intersections from the directions hereinafter designated shall stop in accordance with this chapter before entering these intersections:

(1)Avenue Frederick M. Hubbell and East Euclid Avenue. The driver of a vehicle approaching this intersection from the west, north and south, shall stop before entering the intersection.

(2)Pennsylvania Avenue and Washington (east leg). The driver of a vehicle approaching this intersection from the east, north and south, shall stop before entering the intersection.

(3)Army Post Road and Southwest Twenty-eighth Street. The driver of a vehicle approaching this intersection from the south, east and west, shall stop before entering the intersection.

(4)County Line Road and Southeast Fifth Street. The driver of a vehicle approaching this intersection from the north, east and west shall stop before entering this intersection.

27-716.01. SOUTHWEST SIXTH STREET--VINE STREET TO ARMY POST ROAD.

Southwest Sixth Street, from Vine Street to Southwest Seventh Street, 35 miles per hour.

27-720. SOUTHWEST SEVENTH STREET.

Southwest Seventh Street, from Vine Street to Clifton Avenue, 35 miles per hour.

27-774. COUNTY LINE ROAD.

County Line Road, from South Union Street to Southwest Ninth Street, 35 miles per hour.

County Line Road, from Southwest Ninth Street to a point 300 feet west of Southwest Eleventh Street, 30 miles per hour.

County Line Road, from a point 300 feet west of Southwest Eleventh Street to Fleur Drive, 35 miles per hour.

County Line Road, from Fleur Drive to a point 2,500 feet west of Fleur Drive, 40 miles per hour.

County Line Road, from a point 2,500 feet west of Fleur Drive to the west city limits, 50 miles per hour.

27-775. EAST COUNTY LINE ROAD.

East County Line Road, from Southeast Fourteenth Street to US Highway 65/69, 40 miles per hour.

East County Line Road, from Southeast Fifth Street to Southeast Fourteenth Street, 35 miles per hour.

East County Line Road, from South Union Street to Southeast Fifth Street, 35 miles per hour.
