AN ORDINANCE to amend the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,833, passed June 19, 2000, and Ordinance No. 13,869, passed October 2, 2000, and Ordinance No. 13,877, passed October 23, 2000 by repealing Sections 114-319.02, 114-319.03, 114-1532, 114-2068, 114-2789, 114-2838, 114-2939, 114-3148, 114-3665 thereof and enacting new Sections 114-319.02, 114-319.03, 114-1532, 114-2068, 114-2789, 114-2838, 114-2939, 114-3148, 114-3665, and adding and enacting a new Section 114-2940.1, relating to traffic regulation changes.

Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa:

Section 1. That the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,833, passed June 19, 2000, and Ordinance No. 13,869, passed October 2, 2000, and Ordinance No. 13,877, passed October 23, 2000 is hereby amended by repealing Sections 114-319.02, 114-319.03, 114-1532, 114-2068, 114-2789, 114-2838, 114-2939, 114-3148, 114-3665 thereof and enacting new Sections 114-319.02, 114-319.03, 114-1532, 114-2068, 114-2789, 114-2838, 114-2939, 114-3148, 114-3665, and adding and enacting a new Section 114-2940.1, relating to traffic regulation changes, as follows:

The following intersections are hereby designated as three-way intersections. Stop signs shall be installed and maintained at the following intersections and the driver of a vehicle approaching these intersections from the directions hereinafter designated shall stop in accordance with this chapter before entering these intersections:

(1) Avenue Frederick M. Hubbell and East Euclid Avenue. The driver of a vehicle approaching this intersection from the west, north and south shall stop before entering the intersection.

 

(2) Pennsylvania Avenue and Washington (east leg). The driver of a vehicle approaching this intersection from the east, north and south shall stop before entering the intersection.

 

 

 

(3) Army Post Road and Southwest Twenty-eighth Street. The driver of a vehicle approaching this intersection from the south, east and west, shall stop before entering the intersection.

 

(4) County Line Road and Southeast Fifth Street. The driver of a vehicle approaching this intersection from the north, east and west shall stop before entering this intersection.

 

(5) Watrous Avenue and Southwest Twenty-sixth Street. The driver of a vehicle approaching this intersection from the east, north and south shall stop before entering the intersection.

The following intersections are designated as four-way stop intersections. Stop signs shall be installed and maintained at the following intersections, and the driver of a vehicle approaching these intersections from all directions shall stop in accordance with this chapter before entering the intersections:

(1) Arthur Avenue and East Ninth Street.

(2) Aurora Avenue and Sixth Avenue.

(3) Aurora Avenue and Cornell Street.

(4) Carpenter Avenue and Twenty-fifth Street.

(5) Center Street and Twelfth Street.

(6) Clark Street and Thirteenth Street.

(7) Clark Street and Sixteenth Street.

(8) Cleveland Avenue and East Twelfth Street.

(9) Cleveland Avenue and East Thirteenth Street.

(9a) Cleveland Avenue and Hutton Street.

(10) College Avenue at Seventh Street.

(11) College Avenue at Eighth Street.

(12) College Avenue at Ninth Street.

(13) Cornell Street and Douglas Avenue.

(14) Cornell Street and Hull Avenue.

(15) Cornell Street and East Madison Avenue.

(16) Cornell Street and East Sheridan Avenue.

Nineteenth Street, on the east side, from Pleasant Street to a point 60 feet south thereof, two-hour parking 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
