AN ORDINANCE to amend the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, by adding and enacting a new Section 114-613.01 thereof, relating to parking in spaces designated for resident parking permits.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa:
Section 1. That the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, is hereby amended by adding and enacting a new Section 114-613.01 thereof, relating to parking in spaces designated for resident parking permits, as follows:
Sec. 114-613.01. Parking in spaces designated for resident parking permits.
When official signs are erected, no person shall park a vehicle in a parking space designated as a space for resident permit parking unless the vehicle displays, on the front drivers side windshield, a resident parking permit, in accordance with the requirements of Sec. 114-640.02, issued by the city of Des Moines engineering department, traffic and transportation division. Resident parking permits are valid from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. daily, but do not supersede additionally posted parking restrictions as defined in Sec. 114-602.
Sec. 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
