ORDINANCE NO. 14,130

AN ORDINANCE to amend the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, by adding and enacting a new Section 2-324.01 thereof, relating to the deputy city clerk.

Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa:

Section 1. That the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, is hereby amended by adding and enacting a new Section 2-324.01 thereof, relating to the deputy city clerk, as follows:

Sec. 2-324.01. Deputy City Clerk

The deputy city clerk shall be appointed by the council and shall have and perform such duties as may be assigned by him or her by the city clerk or chief deputy city clerk. In the absence of the city clerk and chief deputy city clerk, for any reason, the deputy city clerk shall have and exercise all duties and powers of the city clerk.

Sec. 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
