AN ORDINANCE to amend the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,893, passed December 4, 2000, and amended by Ordinance No. 14,039, passed January 7, 2002, and amended by Ordinance No. 14,116, passed July 8, 2002, by repealing Sections 114-460.03 and 114-2959 thereof and enacting new Sections 114-460.03 and 114-2959, relating to traffic regulation changes.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa:
Section 1. That the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,893, passed December 4, 2000, and amended by Ordinance No. 14,039, passed January 7, 2002, and amended by Ordinance No. 14,116, passed July 8, 2002, is hereby amended by repealing Sections 114-460.03 and 114-2959 thereof and enacting new Sections 114-460.03 and 114-2959, relating to traffic regulation changes, as follows:
Sec. 114-460.03. Maximum load limit for certain designated bridges and viaducts.
(a) There is fixed for users of the following bridges and viaducts the maximum load limit, including the weight of the vehicle, together with trailer or other attachments thereto, designated for each bridge or viaduct:
1) East Payton Avenue, over the creek south of Easter Lake, a maximum load limit of 14 tons per straight truck, 20 tons per truck plus semitrailer, and 25 tons per truck plus trailer.
2) Southwest Ninth Street Bridge, over the Raccoon River, a maximum load limit of twenty tons.
(b) The city engineer shall post adequate warning signs at each end of the bridge. This notice shall state the maximum load limit permitted by this section.
(c) When official signs are erected giving notice thereof, it shall be unlawful for any person to drive, pull or otherwise propel any vehicle exceeding the maximum load limit provided in this section onto the bridges and viaducts.
Sec. 114-2959. Southwest Sixtieth Street--Gregory Lane to dead end south of Leland Avenue.
Southwest Sixtieth Street, on the east side, from Gregory Lane to a point 320 feet south of Muskogee Avenue, no parking any time.
Southwest Sixtieth Street, on the west side, from Muskogee Avenue to a point 60 feet north thereof, no parking any time.
Southwest Sixtieth Street, on the east side, from Leland Avenue south to the dead end, no parking any time.
Sec. 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
