ORDINANCE NO. 14,363                           

 

AN ORDINANCE to amend the Official Zoning Map of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, set forth in Section 134-277 of the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, by rezoning and changing the district classification of certain property located in the area generally bounded by Des Moines Street on the north, E. Court Avenue on the south, E. 7th Street on the east, and E. 2nd Street on the west, to impose the "PSO" Pedestrian Oriented Sign Overlay District in addition to the existing base zoning district.

 

 

Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa:

 

Section 1.  That the Official Zoning Map of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, set forth in Section 134-277 of the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, be and the same is hereby amended by rezoning and changing the district classification of certain property located in the area generally bounded by Des Moines Street on the north, E. Court Avenue on the south, E. 7th Street on the east, and E. 2nd Street on the west, all being more specifically described as follows, to impose the "PSO" Pedestrian Oriented Sign Overlay District in addition to the existing base zoning district.

Beginning at a point at the intersection of the centerline of Des Moines Street and the southerly extension of the centerline of East 4th Street; thence easterly along the center line of Des Moines Street and its easterly extension to the intersection of the centerline of Pennsylvania Avenue; thence South along the centerline of Pennsylvania Avenue and its southerly extension to the intersection of the center line of East Locust Street; thence easterly along the center line of East Locust Street to the intersection of the northerly extension of the East right-of-way line of vacated North/South alley; thence South along the northerly extension of the East line of vacated North/South alley and its southerly extension to the intersection of the center line of East Court Avenue; thence westerly  along the center line of East Court Avenue to the intersection of the northerly extension of the East line of Lot 2, Block 13, Town of De Moine, an Official Plat; thence southerly along the northerly extension of the East line of said Lot 2, a distance of 67.3 feet South of the centerline of East Court Avenue; thence along a curve to the center line of vacated East/West alley right of way in said Block 13, Town of De Moine being 173.0 feet South of the center line of East Court Avenue and 88.0 feet West of the East line of said Block 13, Town of De Moine; thence westerly along a line 173.0 feet South of and parallel with the centerline of East Court Avenue and its westerly extension to the intersection of the centerline of East 2nd Street; thence northerly along the centerline of East 2nd Street and its northerly extension to the intersection of the centerline of East Locust Street; thence easterly along the centerline of East Locust Street to the intersection of the southerly extension of the centerline of East 2nd Street North of East Locust Street; thence northerly along the southerly extension of the centerline of East 2nd Street and its centerline and its northerly extension to the centerline of East Grand Avenue; thence easterly along the centerline of East Grand Avenue to the intersection of the southerly extension of the centerline of East 4th Street; thence northerly along the southerly extension of the centerline of East 4th Street and its centerline and its northerly extension to the intersection of the centerline of Des Moines Street and the Point of Beginning, all now included in and forming a part of the City of Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.

 

 

Sec. 2.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.

Sec. 3.  That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause certified copies of the vicinity map, this ordinance and proof of publication of this ordinance to be properly recorded in the office of the Polk County Recorder.
