AN ORDINANCE to amend the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,841, passed July 24, 2000, and Ordinance No. 13,951, passed June 4, 2001, and Ordinance No. 14,250, passed July 14, 2003 by amending Sections 114-2677, 114-2803, 114-2862, 114-2928.05, and 114-3890 thereof, relating to traffic and vehicle regulations. 

 

Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa:

    

     Section 1.  That the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,841, passed July 24, 2000, and Ordinance No. 13,951, passed June 4, 2001, and Ordinance No. 14,250, is hereby amended by amending Sections 114-2677, 114-2803, 114-2862, 114-2928.05, and 114-3890 thereof, relating to traffic and vehicle regulations, as follows:

 

Sec. 114-2677. Eighth Street‑‑Walnut Street to Locust Street.

 

     Eighth Street, on the east side, from Walnut Street to a point 145 feet north thereof, no parking 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m.

     Eighth Street, on the east side, from a point 110 feet north of Walnut Street to a point 35 feet north thereof, commercial loading zone.

     Eighth Street, on the east side, from a point 145 feet north of Walnut Street to Locust Street, no parking any time.

          Eighth Street, on the west side, from a point 90 feet south of Locust Street to a point 55 feet south thereof, commercial loading zone.

     Eighth Street, on the west side, from Walnut Street to Locust Street, no parking 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

     Eighth Street, on the west side, from Walnut Street to Locust Street, no parking 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

 

Sec. 114-2803. Twenty-first Street‑‑Olive Avenue to Franklin Avenue.

 

     Twenty-first Street, on the west side, from University Avenue to a point 75 feet north thereof, no parking any time.

     Twenty-first Street, on the east side, from University Avenue to a point 50 feet north of Carpenter Avenue, no parking any time.

     Twenty-first Street, on the west side, from Carpenter Avenue to a point 75 feet south thereof, no parking any time.

     Twenty-first Street, on the west side, from Forest Avenue to a point 85 feet north thereof, two-hour parking 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

     Twenty-first Street, on the east side, from Forest Avenue to Clark Street, no parking any time.

     Twenty-first Street, on the west side, from Meek Avenue to a point 50 feet north thereof, no parking any time. 

     Twenty-first Street, on the east side, from Meek Avenue to Mondamin Avenue, no parking any time.

     Twenty-first Street, on the west side from Mondamin Avenue to a point 50 feet south thereof, no parking any time. 

     Twenty-first Street, on the east side, from Washington Avenue to Franklin Avenue, no parking any time.

     Twenty-first Street, on the west side, from Franklin Avenue to a point 60 feet south thereof, no parking any time. 

 

Sec. 114-2862. Thirtieth Street‑‑Terrace Drive to dead end north of Aurora Avenue.

 

     Thirtieth Street, on the west side, from Terrace Drive to Northwood Road, no parking any time.

     Thirtieth Street, on the west side, from Center Street to a point 217 feet north thereof and on any part of the cul-de-sac, no parking any time.

     Thirtieth Street, on the west side, from School Street to a point 500 feet south thereof, no parking any time.

     Thirtieth Street, on the east side, from University Avenue to Euclid Avenue, no parking any time.

     Thirtieth Street, on the east side, from Carpenter Avenue to a point 300 feet north, loading zone. 

     Thirtieth Street, on the east side, from a point 80 feet south of Carpenter Avenue to a point 300 feet south thereof, loading zone. 

     Thirtieth Street, on the west side, from University Avenue to Francis Avenue, no parking any time.

     Thirtieth Street, on the west side, from Francis Avenue to Hickman Road, no stopping or standing.

     Thirtieth Street, on the west side, from Hickman Road to Euclid Avenue, no parking any time.

     Thirtieth Street, on the east side, from Douglas Avenue to a point 50 feet north thereof, no parking any time.

     Thirtieth Street, on the west side, from Douglas Avenue to Aurora Avenue, no parking any time.

     Thirtieth Street, on the east side, from Madison Avenue to a point 75 feet north thereof, no parking any time.

     Thirtieth Street, on the east side, from Aurora Avenue to a point 70 feet south thereof, no parking any time.

 

Sec. 114-2928.05.  East Forty-third Court—Douglas Avenue to the dead end south. 

 

     East Forty-third Court, on the west side, from Douglas Avenue to the dead end south, no parking any time. 

     East Forty-third Court, on the east side, from Douglas Avenue to point 100 feet south thereof, no parking any time.

 

Sec. 114-3890. Eighth Street‑‑Walnut Street to Locust Street.

 

     Eighth Street, on the west side, Walnut Street to a point 105 feet north thereof, two-hour meters, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

     Eighth Street, on the west side, from a point 230 feet north of Walnut Street to Locust Street, two-hour meters, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 

Sec. 2.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
