ORDINANCE NO. 14,505
AN ORDINANCE to amend
the Official Zoning Map of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, set forth in Section
134-277 of the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, by
rezoning and changing the district classification of certain property located
in the vicinity of 1101 E. 6th Street from the "C-2" General Retail
and Highway Oriented Commercial and "R1-60" One-Family Low-Density
Residential Districts to the "PUD" Planned Unit Development District
classification.
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City
of Des Moines, Iowa:
Section 1. That the Official Zoning Map of the City of
Des Moines, Iowa, set forth in Section 134-277 of the Municipal Code of the
City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, be and the same is hereby amended by rezoning
and changing the district classification of certain property located in the
vicinity of 1101 E. 6th Street, more fully described as follows:
LOT 1 OF RIVER HILLS PLAT 4; AND, THE
EAST 36.2 FEET OF LOT 8, LOTS 9-14 INCLUSIVE, THE NORTH 54 FEET OF LOT 15, LOTS
16-18 INCLUSIVE, ALL OF THE 16 FEET ALLEY LYING EAST OF AND ADJACENT TO LOT 18,
ALL IN JAMES HALL’S SECOND SUBDIVISION; AND, ALL OF THAT PART OF VACATED EAST 7TH
STREET EXTENDING FROM THE NORTH LINE OF FREEMONT STREET TO THE SOUTH LINE OF
FILMORE STREET EXTENDED WEST, AND THAT PART OF VACATED FILMORE STREET EXTENDING
FROM A LINE 40 FEET EAST OF AND PARALLEL TO THE CENTERLINE OF EAST 6TH
AVENUE TO THE WEST LINE OF LOT 6 IN JAMES HALL’S SECOND SUBDIVISION; AND, THE

AVENUE; THE ALLEY LYING SOUTH OF E. UNIVERSITY AVENUE AND ADJACENT TO LOTS 1-10
OF JAMES HALL’S SUBDIVISION; ALL THAT PART OF BOTH PINE STREET AND E. 7TH
AVENUE EXTENDING FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF E. UNIVERSITY AVENUE TO THE NORTH LINE
OF FILMORE STREET; THE ALLEY LYING ADJACENT TO LOTS 11-16 OF JAMES HALL’S
SECOND SUBDIVISION AND EXTENDING FROM FILMORE STREET TO FREEMONT STREET, ALL
INCLUDED IN AND FORMING A PART OF THE CITY OF DES MOINES, POLK COUNTY, IOWA.
from the "C-2"

Low-Density Residential Districts to the "PUD" Planned Unit
Development District classification.
Sec. 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after the later of its passage and publication as provided by
law.
Sec. 3. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to cause certified copies of the vicinity map, this ordinance, and
proof of publication of this ordinance to be properly filed in the office of
the Polk County Recorder.
