ORDINANCE NO. 14,506        

 

 

AN ORDINANCE to amend the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,924, passed February 26, 2001, and Ordinance No. 14,270, passed August 25, 2003, and Ordinance No. 14,437, passed April 25, 2005, and Ordinance No. 14,458, passed June 6, 2005, by amending Sections 114-2599, 114-2599, 114-2614, 114-3534 and 114-3867 and adding and enacting a new Section 114-628.01 thereof, relating to traffic and vehicle regulations. 

 

Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Des Moines, Iowa:

    

     Section 1.  That the Municipal Code of the City of Des Moines, Iowa, 2000, adopted by Ordinance No. 13,827, passed June 5, 2000, and amended by Ordinance No. 13,924, passed February 26, 2001, and Ordinance No. 14,270, passed August 25, 2003, and Ordinance No. 14,437, passed April 25, 2005, and Ordinance No. 14,458, passed June 6, 2005 is hereby amended by amending Sections 114-2599, 114-2599, 114-2614, 114-3534 and 114-3867 and adding and enacting a new Section 114-628.01 thereof, relating to traffic and vehicle regulations, as follows: 

 

Sec. 114-628.01.  Parking in municipal buildings. 

 

(a)  No person shall park any vehicle across any line or marking or in an area designated as a public parking space in a city-owned or controlled parking garage or city-owned or controlled parking lot in such a manner that the vehicle shall not be entirely within the parking area designated by lines, markings or traffic control signing which indicates the limits of a designated parking space. 

(b)  A person who violates such provision of this section shall pay a fine of $15.00. 

 

Sec. 114-2599. Southeast Second Street‑‑East Vine Street to East Army Post Road.

 

     Southeast Second Street, on the east side, from a point 75 feet south of Raccoon Street to a point 75 feet north of Raccoon Street, no parking any time.

     Southeast Second Street, on the west side, from a point 290 feet north of Raccoon Street to Shaw Street, no parking any time.

     Southeast Second Street, on the east side, from East Jackson Avenue to East Edison Avenue, no parking any time.

     Southeast Second Street, on both sides and at the dead end, from East Edison Avenue to the dead end south, no parking any time.      Southeast Second Street, on the west side, from East Watrous Avenue to East Trowbridge Street, no parking any time.

     Southeast Second Street, on the west side, from East Porter Avenue to East Army Post Road, no parking any time.

     Southeast Second Street, on the east side, from East Army Post Road to a point 50 feet north thereof, no parking any time.

 

Sec. 114-2614. Southwest Third Street‑‑Vine Street to Army Post Road.

 

     Southwest Third Street, on the west side, from Vine Street to a point 15 feet south thereof, no parking any time. 

     Southwest Third Street, on the west side, from a point 80 feet south of Vine Street to vacated Market Street, no parking any time.      Southwest Third Street, on the east side, from Market Street to a point 32 feet north, no parking any time.     

     Southwest Third Street, on the west side, from a point 40 feet south of vacated Market Street to a point 12 feet south thereof, no parking any time. 

     Southwest Third Street, on the west side, from a point 72 feet south of vacated Market Street to West Martin Luther King Jr Parkway, no parking any time. 

     Southwest Third Street, on the west side, from West Martin Luther King Jr Parkway to Jackson Avenue, no parking any time.

     Southwest Third Street, on the east side, from a point 75 feet north of West Martin Luther King Jr Parkway to Jackson Avenue, no parking any time.

     Southwest Third Street, on the west side, from Thornton Avenue to Watrous Avenue, no parking any time.

     Southwest Third Street, on the east side, from Maxwelton Drive to Herold Avenue, no parking any time.

     Southwest Third Street, on the west side, from Kenyon Avenue to Porter Avenue, no parking any time.

     Southwest Third Street, on the east side, from Porter Avenue to Payton Avenue, no parking any time.

     Southwest Third Street, on the west side, from Payton Avenue to Army Post Road, no parking any time.

     Southwest Third Street, on the east side, from Army Post Road to a point 50 feet north thereof, no parking any time.

 

 

Sec. 114-3534. Oakridge Drive‑‑Keosauqua Way to Fifteenth Street.

 

     Oakridge Drive, on the north side, from a point 280 feet west of Keosauqua Way to Fifteenth Street, no parking 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

     Oakridge Drive, on the north side, from Keosauqua Way to a point 280 feet west thereof, no parking any time. 

     Oakridge Drive, on the south side, from Keosauqua Way to Fifteenth Street, no parking any time. 

 

Sec. 114-3867. Southwest Third Street‑‑Vine Street to West Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway.

 

     Southwest Third Street, on the east side, from Vine Street to a point 25 feet north of West Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, four-hour meters, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

     Southwest Third Street, on the west side, from a point 15 feet south of Vine Street to a point 65 feet south thereof, four hour meters, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

     Southwest Third Street, on the west side, from a point 62 feet south of Market Street to a point 20 feet south thereof, four hour meters, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. 

 

Sec. 2.  This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
