About Yoga in the Park
Des Moines Parks and Recreation and UnityPoint Health-Des Moines invite you to enjoy your Saturday mornings by participating in a free weekly yoga session at a variety of Des Moines Parks.
We’re shaking it up this season and taking Saturday Yoga on the road. The season starts on June 3 at Gray’s Lake on the southeast lawn, and in July classes will move north to enjoy the beauty of Union Park grassy area inside the circle drive. In August, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy the James W. Cownie Soccer Complex, and the season will end in September back at Gray’s Lake southeast lawn. Join us every Saturday, June 3 through September 30, for free outdoor yoga classes from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
The classes, taught by volunteer instructors from around the Metro Area, are perfect for all skill levels, from curious beginner to advanced yogi. You are encouraged to bring a mat or a towel as well as some water and clothes you can move in. No registration for the class is required, just show up ready to relax, release and enjoy.

Gray’s Lake Park is easily accessible via Des Moines’ extensive trail network. Due to the popularity of the program, we encourage participants to walk, run or bike to Yoga.
